After Medan, It's Pematang Siantar's Turn to be Visited by the Promotional Tour of "Tolong Saya! Dowajuseyo"
PEMATANG SIANTAR - January 25, 2026 — Following a successful fan meet-and-greet at Plaza Medan Fair on Saturday (24/1/2026), the cast and crew of the horror film Tolong Saya! (Dowajuseyo) produced by Heart Pictures continued their promotional tour to Pematang Siantar. The Meet & Greet event was held at Suzuya Merdeka Mall on Sunday (25/1/2026) and was met with tremendous enthusiasm from the people of Siantar.
In attendance were Saskia Chadwick, Kim Geba, Dito Darmawan, Executive Producer Herty Purba, Scriptwriter Beby Salsabila, and Special Performance Yun Jian.
A Special Visit with a Touch of Simalungun Culture
The visit to Siantar felt especially personal for the production team, as the film incorporates elements of Simalungun culture, particularly the Ayam Dayok Nabinatur tradition performed when sending a child abroad. Executive Producer Herty Purba explained that the film was deliberately crafted as an urban horror experience bridging two nations. "We wanted it to feel more urban, so it would be different. We chose Korea as the setting to bring an urban feel from a different country. The cast is also young truly fresh faces that make audiences curious," she said.
Born from a True Story
The film is adapted from the real-life mystical experience of Beby Salsabila, an Indonesian student studying in South Korea, stemming from an unsettling encounter she had in July 2023 at a café in Korea. Prior to filming, Beby personally visited each location from her experience to seek spiritual permission, ensuring the production process would run smoothly.
The Cast Share Their Stories
Kim Geba marks his debut on the Indonesian big screen through this film. The Korean-born YouTuber who has lived in Indonesia for 23 years expressed great enthusiasm despite the unique challenges of acting. Dito Darmawan described the project as something special, as it independently blends Indonesian and Korean culture in a way rarely seen before. Meanwhile, Saskia Chadwick revealed eerie behind-the-scenes moments, recalling how one of the crew members became possessed for six hours during a shoot in a forest in Jakarta, making the process physically and mentally exhausting.
About the Film
The film follows Tania (Saskia Chadwick), an Indonesian student in South Korea who is haunted and possessed by the restless spirit of a rape victim named Min Yong. Together with Dr. Park Min Jae (Kim Geba), Tania sets out to uncover the mystery behind Min Yong's death — a truth that ultimately involves someone close to her. Tolong Saya!
